On November 18, 2023, Paul F. Scully, husband of Dianne (Levesque) Scully, died at the age of 85 after a period of illness. Paul was born in Taunton to William and Catherine Scully, and graduated from Coyle High School. After serving proudly in the United States Marines, he graduated from New Mexico State University and later earned a Master's degree from Assumption University. Paul was a teacher at Canton High School for 36 years, where he developed and taught the school's first Psychology course and coached the softball team to an appearance in the state finals. He was also a long-time high school basketball official, refereeing state finals in all divisions and serving as vice-president, president, and then commissioner for nearly thirty years for IAABO Board 30. Paul was predeceased by his brother William Scully and his sister Martha Lucey, and is survived by his sister Therese McHale of California. Along with his wife Dianne, he is also survived by his son Christopher and his wife Elisa, of Taunton; and his son Daniel and his wife Bernadette, of Brooklyn. He was also the loving grandfather of Aidan Scully, Conal Scully, and Liam Scully, of Taunton, and Jack Scully and William Scully, of Brooklyn. Calling hours will be held at the O'Keefe-Wade funeral home, 70 Washington Street, on Saturday, December 9th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
