Irving Eugene Willis, a retired Navy Lieutenant, died on November 25, 2023, just shy of his 96th birthday.
Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, a son of the late Howard E. and Hazel (Parker) Willis, he had lived in San Diego, California for 20 years before returning to Rhode Island in 1999.
A graduate of Haverhill High School in Massachusetts, he enlisted in the Navy after graduation, retiring in 1971. Mr. Willis attended Bryant College, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1977.
He leaves his son, Joseph H. Willis of Dayville, CT along with three grandchildren, Ashley, Amber and Justin Willis, and one great-granddaughter, Vivien DeQuattro. He was a father to the late Edward E. Willis and Charles D. Willis. He was a brother to the late Alfred Willis and Clara Coco.
Mr. Willis was a life member of VFW Post 3787, San Diego, California, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the Bryant College Alumni Association.
