Obituary

WEBSTER – Wilfred J. “Tony” Paul, 90, died Monday, November 27, 2023 in Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge with family at his side. His wife of 66 years, Norma S. (Snay) Paul died on March 9.

He leaves a son, James L. “Jimmy” Paul of Dudley; a daughter, Lori A. Krikorian and her husband David of Paxton; 3 grandchildren, Meghan Krikorian of Charleston, SC, Brian Krikorian of Brighton and Katie Paul of Atlanta; 2 sisters, Janice Stone of Oxford and Patricia Wood of Webster; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Mary P. (Deary) Paul in 2016, and by his sister, Rosilda Morissette.

He was born at home in North Oxford on September 2, 1933, the son of Esdrose and Blanche (Lambert) Paul and attended Worcester Boys Trade School. He had lived in Webster since the early 1960’s.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Paul was first a machinist at George Meyers Company in West Boylston for 25 years and then at Neles-Jamesbury Company in Worcester for 10 years, retiring in 1995. He was then a professional assistant at both the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home and at Scanlon Funeral Service in Webster for many years.

“Tony” was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, a life member of its League of the Sacred Heart and a weekly adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. He played in the Sacred Heart Pitch League for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a man of many skills, including building his own home.

His funeral will be held Saturday, December 2, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 11:15 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will perform military honors at the church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:45 AM Saturday in the funeral home, prior to the Mass.
