Etta Mae (Allison) Choate, 85 of Lowell, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at her home. She was the widow of the late Willie W.C. Choate who passed away in 2006.
She was born in Lincolnton, North Carolina on August 28, 1938 and was a daughter of the late Walter Allison and the late Birnia (Mauney) Allison. She was raised in Shelby, North Carolina where she attended the area schools.
Etta relocated to Lowell in 1962, where she lived until her passing. She worked as a machine operator at Matador Plastics for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed watching TV and spending time outdoors.
Etta is survived by her four children, Willie ‘Donnie’ Choate of Lowell, Beatrice Choate-Parker of Lowell, Warren Choate of Lowell and Nigel Choate Sr. and his wife, Diane of Taunton; twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one great grandson. She is also survived by her brother, Howard Allison of Lowell; her nieces and nephews including Vanessa Glenn, Shakala Glenn; her best friend for over 50 years, Shirley Thomas of Lowell.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her thirteen siblings.
On Thursday, November 30, 2023 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 4-7 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816.
On Friday morning her funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. in the funeral home followed by procession for burial at Westlawn II Cemetery in Lowell.
