Doris C. Auclair, 81, of Woonsocket died Saturday November 25, 2023 at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond A. “Ray” Auclair. Doris and Ray were married on March 14, 1961 and shared nearly 59 years together until his passing in 2020.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Cecile (Anger) Carpentier. She lived in Manville and Albion for a period of time before returning to Woonsocket where she remained a lifelong resident.
Doris worked for Ames Stores and at American Touriseter. For many years she was employed as a certified nursing assistant (CAN) for Ocean State Nursing.
Doris was a self-proclaimed fitness enthusiast. She regularly exercised and was an avid racquet ball player.
Doris was an awesome grandmother. She loved to get right in there and play alongside her grandchildren at whatever was the game or source of fun at the moment. Doris could find the humor in any given situation. Her sense of fun and laughter was contagious.
Doris is survived by her children including her two sons Raymond B. Auclair and his late wife Christie Lee Auclair and Russell Auclair and his wife Jill, and a daughter Debbie Kerrigan and her husband Sean all of Woonsocket. She was the sister of the late Denis Carpeniter. She is survived by her grandchildren Joshua, Jeremy, Stephanie and Krystal and great-grandchildren Kyle, Cam, Maddie, Brooke and Roc. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather to honor, remember and pray for Doris on Thursday November 30, 2023 with visiting hours from 8:30-9:45 am at Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Doris will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Ray at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
