Domenico Antonio Conte, age 92, of Medford, passed away on Friday, November 24th, at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. Born and raised in Lettomanoppello, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the son of the late Leone and Anna (D'Alfonso) Conte.
Domenico came to the US in 1967 and initially settled in Somerville but lived most of his life in Medford. He was employed as a construction worker. Domenico enjoyed watching soccer and American hockey, playing cards (scopa) and singing Italian songs. His greatest joy came from eating his wife’s home cooked meals and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who were everything to him.
Domenico was the beloved husband of Santa Conte and the devoted father of Giuseppe (Joseph), Leonard and his wife Deborah, Vigo and his wife Ellen, Anna and her former husband Jim and Nicoletta (Niki). He was a loving Nonno to Mark, Amanda, Lorenzo, Lauren, Ryan, Kaleigh, Shannon and James.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, December 5th at 9 AM, followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend, and may visit with Domenico’s family on Monday, December 4th, from 4 to 8 PM. Services will concluded with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
