Obituary

Louis M. Valle, 83, of Dighton, MA passed away at home surrounded by his family, after a short battle with cancer, on November 22, 2023.
He was born in Brockton, MA in 1940 to Louis A. Valle and Julia (Tursky) Sands and was the youngest of 3 boys. Lou enlisted in the Army in 1979 and later moved on to the National Guard where he proudly served on the front lines during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, retiring from the National Guard in 2000. Lou, affectionally known as Pup to most, was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and could often be found watching games with his entire family. Lou also enjoyed his time at the beach, whether it was Second Beach in Newport or winter excursions to Florida with Linda, trips to the Town Spa for a pizza or down the Cape for a lobster roll and walks through La Salette Shrine in Attleboro.
Lou was preceded in death by his loving wife Linda D. (Soule) Valle. Linda and Lou were married for 34 years and were together until Linda passed away suddenly in May of 2020. Lou was also preceded in death by his father Louis A. Valle, mother Julia (Tursky) Sands, brother Peter Valle, brother Donald Valle, and daughter Lisa Cox. Lou is survived by his son Louis Valle Jr of Brockton; son Richard Valle, daughter in-law Lisa Valle, and their son Anthony, all of Lake Wylie, SC; daughter Laurie Berggren of Norwood; son Frank Cox of Norwood, his partner Lauren Desharnais, and his son Brendan Cox of Whitman; son Craig Cox, daughter in-law Helen Cox (her sisters, nieces, nephews and their entire families), their sons Blake & Keigan all of Taunton, and Keigan’s fiancé Daniela Costa of Cumberland, RI; son Mark (Marty) Cox of East Providence, RI, his daughters Kayla & Haylee, their mother Bridget (Mayer) Cox; and granddaughter Ashley McGlynn, her fiancé Eric Tulip and their sons Gabriel & Grayson of Urbana, OH.
If you knew Pup, even for just a moment, you would have most certainly heard him sing one of his favorite songs. In fitting fashion, within days of passing he was still serenading the whole family. Pup you did it your way, right to the end. Rest in peace.
And now the end is here
And so I face that final curtain
My friend I'll make it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and every highway
And more, much more
I did it, I did it my way
- Frank Sinatra
