Phyllis Anne (Gallinelli) Campbell of Weston and Humarock, November 21, 2023. Born in Newton Mass., July 7, 1925. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Thomas and Angelina (Lupo) Gallinelli. She is the wife of the late Joseph S. Campbell, Sister of the late Thomas Gallinelli Jr. The mother of James P. Campbell and his wife Irene of Holliston, J. Stephen Campbell and his wife Katrina of Millis, Thomas D. Campbell and his wife Sara (Sally) of Marshfield. She had 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her loving grandson Joseph.
Phyllis led a long and meaningful life devoting herself to her husband, her children, her Church and her Community and friends. Her extended family enjoyed many warm and tasty holiday dinners at her homes in Weston, and her summer home in Humarock. Phyllis graduated from Regis College where she formed life-long friendships which she cherished. She spent decades in volunteer and charity work always doing something meaningful with her time. She was part of the Regis Alumni Association. She was a volunteer with the Charles River Center in Needham where she worked many years raising funds, and at St Julia’s in Weston where she worked in the Thrift Shop and was one of the counters after Sunday mass. She was a skilled needle worker and continued knitting baby blankets and beanies well into her 90s for the Linus Project.
Phyllis is best remembered as Mema to her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she cherished. In later years her eyes would light up whenever the great-grandchildren came to visit her. She was very proud of her family and a dedicated friend to all that knew her. She will be missed and remembered by many.
Visiting hours are 4-7pm on Thursday, November 30, at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., Wellesley with a Mass being offered on Friday at St. Julia’s Church, 374 Boston Post Rd. in Weston at 10am. Interment Linwood Cemetery, Weston. Flowers are welcome.
