John Francis Carroll passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20th, at the age of 76 years. John was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Walter Carroll and Agnes Russo Carroll, and attended St Peter's College.
Through his career as a financial professional, primarily with Merrill Lynch, he led foundational work in the field of financial data management. He dedicated his spare time towards his family as well as coaching and organizing youth basketball at both St Margaret's and St Pancras' parishes, for which he was ultimately inducted in to the CYO Hall of Fame in 2020. In his retired years, he enjoyed splitting time between Glendale and Catskill, New York with his wife Margaret "Peggy", eventually moving to Southern California to spend more time with his son.
He is survived by his son Kevin (Hali), brother-in law Vincent (Jennifer), sisters-in-law Joellen and Kathy (Kurt), along with his niece Madeline and nephews Mark, Michael, and Mac.
A west coast memorial dinner will be held at Ottavios' Restaurant in Camarillo, CA on December 2nd, with an east coast memorial during March Madness, details TBD. Contact the family for more details.
