TILTON ---- David Elwin ‘Salty’ White, 84, of the NH Veterans Home on Winter Street, entered eternity on Monday, November 20, 2023, surrounded by family at Concord Hospital in Laconia.

David was born on October 12, 1939, in North Conway, NH, the son of Clinton and Grace (Dodge) White.

Dave served in the US Army after graduating high school. He married the love of his life Peggy in 1962, and together they raised four children. He owned and operated Dave’s Market in Littleton, NH, before making a career as a branch manager for Nissen’s Bakery before retiring in the mid-nineties.

Dave was an avid fisherman his entire life. He loved Lake Winnipesauke as well as the coastal waters of NH. It was through his love of fishing that he gained the nickname Salty. Peggy always loved it when he returned with a large bounty of fish to process. Dave was an amazing 10 pin bowler and on his best day he was one strike away from 300. He was also an avid New England sports fan. Dave loved his family and his many nieces and nephews and friends unconditionally. He loved his Savior Jesus Christ and he had a heart for serving others.

David is survived by his daughter Robin Hempel and her husband Joe, sons, Mark White and his wife Valerie, Alexander ‘AJ’ White, his former daughter-in-law Rikki White, his companion of 12 years Lidia Oliver, sisters, Anne Croneaur, Jane Hennessey, Sue Cliché and Nancy Luckey, brother John White, grandchildren, Corrie Hempel, Meghann Hempel, Joey Hempel, Martha Boardman, Reagan and Sydney White, Nichole Eaton and Amanda Eaton, great-grandchildren, Isabella and Fiona Donelly, Ryder Eaton, Kyah Schultz and Taylor Solomon Hempel, and many nieces and nephews.
