Obituary

Raymond E. "Ray" Mullaney of Hubert, North Carolina, formerly of Franklin, MA died unexpectedly on November 13, 2023.

He was the father of his beloved daughter Kathleen (Katie) Mullaney and the husband of the love of his life, Mary Ellen (Kearney) Mullaney.

Born in 1969, he was the son of Raymond Mullaney and the late Jacqueline (Luippold) Mullaney and raised in Norfolk, MA.

Ray was a painter by profession and owned his own company for many years. Ray had a love of life and love for the people in his life. On Sunday afternoons in the fall or on any winter evening, his door was always open for people to join him for a Patriots game or a Bruins game. Winter months would find him snowmobiling in the New Hampshire White Mountains or the trails near Millinocket, Maine. He loved vacation time with Mary Ellen and Katie which included trips to places such as Disney World, Sesame Place, and Story Land. His favorite trips were to Cape Cod where he enjoyed deep sea fishing, bike riding, and time with extended family. He was an avid old school pinball enthusiast and a worthy opponent for those who challenged him to a game.

In recent years he developed a love of motorcycles and enjoyed the open road. For those who knew him, he will be remembered for the special love he had for his daughter Katie, attending all of her soccer and basketball games and nurturing her along the way. He will also be remembered for the loving and compassionate way he cared for Mary Ellen as she faced her heroic battle with cancer.

Ray leaves behind his daughter Kathleen (Katie) and her fiancé Kyle Lafleche, his father Raymond Mullaney of Norfolk, two sisters Karen Peterson and her husband John of Franklin and Charlotte Mullaney of Westford. He will be lovingly remembered by his nephew Patrick Peterson and his niece Alyssa Peterson. He also leaves behind his dog Chopper and his grand dogs, Walter and Annie.

Services will be private per the families request.
