Frank S. "Butch" Tardo of Yarmouth Port, MA, formerly of Medford, passed away on Sunday, November 19th after a five year battle with cancer. A proud Sicilian, he was the beloved son of the late Frank and Lillian (Corrao) Tardo. Butch was an avid fly fisherman, self-taught guitarist, parachuter, mountain climber, classic car collector, and antique enthusiast. But most of all he was a family man; grumpy on the outside but a softy on the inside.
Butch is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of nearly 60 years, Marie "Ginger" Tardo. He was the beloved father of Stephanie (Tardo) Story and her husband Michael, the dear brother of Richard Tardo and his wife Teresa, and brother-in-law of Mary Jo Malinski. Butch was predeceased by his brother Michael, brother-in-law Edward DeSantis, sister-in-law Corinne Naples, and sister-in-law Rosemarie McCarron and her husband Ralph. He was a greatly loved uncle, great uncle, cousin, and friend to many, especially his childhood friend Bart Campanella.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 24th from 4 through 8 PM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday, November 25th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
