Kim was born in Prosser, WA, on March 3,1951, to Dwight Alexander and Elinor Robin Halstead. Not enough could be said about the wisdom and strength bestowed upon her by her parents.
She was raised with amazing siblings, Paul, Janna, Lisa, Deidra, Tamara, and Melinda, and a beloved "extra" brother and friend, Richard Ray. Each one of her siblings gifted her with nieces and nephews who couldn't be more loved.
She also had extraordinary relatives, her Father-in-Law, Jean Arrestouilh, and Mother-in-Law Mildred Arrestouilh, as well as her dearest Uncle Chuck and Aunt Betty Talbot.
Of special note is her only sister-in- Law, Margo Halstead - a better friend no one could have. Thank you for loving her, Margo.
While attending Prosser High School, Kim met the most wonderful guy, Eugene Arrestouilh. On June 16, 1973, they entered into married life. What adventures they had! Careers of teaching together and raising their two daughters, Jaimee Nicole' and Krista Michelle. Although their years together were cut short, in 1995, by his abrupt passing from life into eternity. Gene always allowed her the ability to maintain strength in God and independence. Kim’s greatest regret is that their dad did not live long enough to witness them growing up into their successful adult lives.
Into her close family circle of love came her son-in-law, Ian Allison. His marriage to Krista resulted in joy of all joys - her grandgirls Eleanor Rey and Evelyn Ann. Eleanor with Gene's (and her other grandpa's) middle name and Evelyn with Kim’s.
Almost all of her life had been centered around some form of teaching... swim lessons and coaching, Sunday School and "Kings Kids,” and 43+ years of teaching both at Wellpinit and Mabton.
Sadly, Kim was preceded by her husband Gene. There are so many memories, so many wonderful times, and so many friends and family to embrace with affection and love. She can only leave you with those precious moments you have shared and these words:
"Please do not seek the living among the graves... for I have risen! I leave behind my laughter, love, and probably a few interesting memories!”
Kim entered into the arms of Jesus to reunite with her beloved husband on November 17th. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Saturday, November 25th at Temple Baptist Church, 4555 Arena Road in Richland.
