LECANTO, FL- Roger F. Dunning Jr., 73, passed away on November 8, 2023, at home with his wife Nancy.
He was born in Portland, June 9, 1950, son of Roger Sr & Idolyn Dunning and was a graduate of Bonny Eagle High School.
He was employed by Maine State Department of Transportation; Maine Turnpike Authority; Maine State Employees Association; and the City of Portland Parks & Recreation.
He collected Postage Stamps since 1960: a WW I and Civil War enthusiast collecting many books and memorabilia.
He is pre-deceased by his father and mother.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Nancy (Beaulieu) Dunning; his children- Amy (Dunning) Stepnick and husband Kenneth of Standish, Roger Dunning III and wife Lisa of Nashua, NH, and Richard Dunning and wife Micole of Casco; eight grandchildren- Jason, Elizabeth, Isabel, Connor, Leon, Isaac, Richard Jr and Autumn; Great Grandson Jason; sister Gail (Dunning) Kinney and brother Conrad Dunning; and many nieces and nephews.
Roger had a love of all things family, sports, and politics.
A graveside service will be held on Friday Nov. 24th at 1 PM at Riverside Cemetery in Cornish.
