Obituary

Anthony (Buddy) Joseph Nascarella, 74, of Whitman passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, November 16th. He was the beloved husband to Janet (Wilson) Nascarella.

Born and raised in South Boston, son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Tamburino) Nascarella. Anthony was a graduate of South Boston High School, class of 1966.

Buddy met Jan in fourth grade at the Perry School, South Boston, and liked each other from that point on! They got married at the South Baptist Church in South Boston on November 28, 1970.

Buddy worked for over 32 years on the MBTA Orange Line. At the time of his retirement, he was at the Wellington T Station, as a Train Starter. Prior to working at the T, he was employed at General Dynamics in Quincy as a shipfitter.

Buddy’s favorite spot was Castle Island in South Boston. He loved catching up with old friends, having a burger at Sullivan’s, and sitting on the benches overlooking the water and boats.

Buddy loved his home and was always puttering around the house and yard. He always kept busy and enjoyed being outside. He loved all the pets he had throughout his married life. What he loved most of all was being with his family who he cherished the most, especially his grandchildren. He was always there to cheer on his children and grandchildren at sporting events. Buddy enjoyed the summer months by the pool with the family, he loved them with all his heart.

Buddy is survived by his wife Janet (Wilson) Nascarella. His children Brian J. Nascarella of Bourne, Marc A. Nascarella and partner Amy Hill of Brighton, Andrea J. (Nascarella) O’Donnell and husband John of Whitman, and Scott C. Nascarella and wife Jillian of Whitman. His grandchildren Lily, Molly, Morgan, Madison, and Jack. His sister Ruth (Nascarella) Baker of TN, and brother Daniel Nascarella and fiance Marilyn. Brother-in-law’s Charlie and Elaine Wilson of Middleton, Donald Wilson of Whitman. As well as uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Predeceased by his brother-in-law Bob and Joan Wilson of Abington.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be sadly missed by so many.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Tuesday November 21 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. With a 7:00 PM funeral service to follow.
