LACONIA ---- Melissa (Hebert) Jenkins, 60, of Spring Street, passed away peacefully at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 after losing her battle from a stroke she suffered 10 years ago.
Melissa was born April 2, 1963 in Methuen, MA to Robert and Lucy (Fortier) Hebert. She was the youngest of five children.
Melissa’s family moved to Laconia when she was five years old. She attended schools in Laconia until graduating in 1981 from Laconia High School. She then attended Notre Dame College and also Plymouth State College joining Kappa Sigma Phi Fraternity. While attending school there she studied Early Childhood Education. She spent most of her life caring for young children which she loved and enjoyed.
She enjoyed her time spent at St. Joseph’s Church Rectory helping with secretarial tasks and by serving the people of the Parish to obtain services needed for their family.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, David Jenkins; son Robert Jenkins and his fiancé Ava Guidette-Bocchino; sister Sherri (Hebert) Leonard and her husband Earle of Laconia; brother Steve Hebert and fiancé Julie Ballon of Winnisquam; sister-in-law Dede and husband Roger Goupil of Laconia; sister-in-law Lora Jenkins of Laconia; sister-in-law Betty Secore of Montana; and sister-in-law Mary Lou Leach of Franklin. She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Lucy Hebert, brothers Gregg and Mark Hebert, nephew Brendon Hebert and grandmother, Lucille Fortier.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 4:00-6:00pm at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, NH, 03246, using the Carriage House entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andre Bessette Parish-Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH.
Burial will follow the Mass at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia, NH.
