She also leaves behind her sister Jane (Wheeler) Dolan of Plymouth, MA and brother, James Wheeler Jr. of Weymouth MA, and several cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Nancy was also predeceased by her parents James and Marian (Shepard) Wheeler.
Born in Mansfield, MA on March 1, 1945, she lived most of her life there until 2020, when she became a resident at Chapel Hill Senior Living in Cumberland, RI.
Nancy was a graduate of Mansfield High School Class of 1963. She then went on to the Chandler School for Women where she was awarded a diploma in executive secretarial course study. Bob and Nancy married in 1967 and within a few years would be living on Lawndale Road, their home for over 45 years. Her love of reading led her to the position of a library assistant at the Mansfield Public Library for over fifteen years but most of her life was dedicated to being a homemaker and raising her children.
Nancy also enjoyed spending summers in Falmouth, MA sunbathing by day and indulging in fresh seafood by night. Her favorite pastimes included gardening and catching up with neighbors and friends. But her most cherished memories came from hosting holiday parties surrounded by family and doting on her grandchildren. She especially loved hanging out at the family cape house laughing, telling old stories, and enjoying the beach landscapes.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, November 30 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will be private.
