Obituary

WILBRAHAM - Dorothy L. (Miller) Gore, 91, a longtime resident of Wilbraham, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, November 16, 2023 surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Waukegan, Illinois on Saturday, January 23, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late James E. Miller and Alice R. (Westerhouse) Miller Freeman. She was raised in Waukegan, Illinois and later lived in Springfield, Monson, Palmer and Three Rivers before moving to Wilbraham in 2003. During her leisure time, she loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Dottie was always the life of the party and enjoyed dancing, singing, and having a high ball cocktail. She had an infectious smile and a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh and make others laugh as well. Dottie was always the first to lend a helping hand and would do anything to make someone’s day. She had great wit, was always making jokes, and was quick to "come back" with a good answer. During her leisure time, Dorothy loved to take long walks and enjoyed being in nature. She was a member of Grace Union Church in Wilbraham where she was an active volunteer and a member of the Women's Christian Club. She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Gore, who was Called Home on February 23, 1991. She was also predeceased by her loving son, Gary A. Gore, who was Called Home on October 13, 1983; and her dear sister, Betty Freiberg. She leaves her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly A. Gore-Carbonneau and her husband, Jean Paul Carbonneau, of Brimfield; her three cherished grandchildren, Jonathan Carbonneau and his fiancée, Meaghin Fournier, James Carbonneau and his wife, Stephanie, and Karissa Kearney and her husband, James Kearney IV; her five great grandchildren, Amanda Landry Carbonneau, Leora Kearney, Jackson Carbonneau, Jameson Carbonneau, and James Kearney V; and extended family. Her family will receive friends on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Union Church, 10 Chapel Street, Wilbraham, MA 01095, (please meet directly at the church).
