Candelieri, Elisabetta L.A. of Dedham, passed away at home surrounded by family on November 14, 2023 at the age of 103.
Devoted wife of 61 years to the late Francesco Candelieri. Beloved mother of Dominic Candelieri (Antonietta), Rosita M. A. Geishecker, Saverio Candelieri and the late Anthony Candelieri. Sister of the late Maria Grazia Corapi, the late Pietro Fusto, the late Francesco Antonio Fusto, and the late Palma Spano.
Cherished Nana to Frank (Lisa) Candelieri, Loriann (Allen) Geishecker, Kristin (James) Theofanides and the late Lilla Candelieri. Loving Nonna Nonna to Gabriella (Ryan) Moore, Isabella, Alessia and Francesca Candelieri and Maggie and Lily Theofanides. Also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Youngest of 5 children born to Antonio and Angela Fusto in Olivadi, Italy, Elisabetta was educated in Italy and immigrated to the United States of America in 1955. She was very proud to become a U.S. citizen along with her husband and children.
Elisabetta loved to read, listen to music, especially opera, and was skilled at knitting and embroidery, often sharing her custom creations with family. She enjoyed time in her garden and had an ability to grow an incredible variety of herbs, flowers and vegetables no matter the season, often preparing wonderful meals for family and friends from her produce.
Elisabetta had a very deep faith in God and was a regular parishioner at St. Mary’s Church. She also had a delightful and endearing sense of humor. To know her was to love and admire her, and have your cheeks hurt from laughing. We will profoundly miss her.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Monday, November 20 at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 420 High St., Dedham at 10:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment at Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
