NEW BERN, NC - Ann Marie (Hanke) Alaimo, 80, of New Bern, NC and Mansfield, MA and a former resident of Fort Ann and Glens Falls, NY, was called safely home on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Ann married her beloved husband and best friend, John J. Alaimo, Jr. at St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow in 1966. Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, taking great joy in spending time with them on the lake after moving to Hadlock Pond in Fort Ann. She stayed there with John until he was called Home on January 22, 2004 after 37 years of happiness together. She later decided to live with her daughters and their families, splitting time between Mansfield, Milford, and most recently, New Bern. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield and St. Paul’s Church in New Bern. Ann cherished the opportunity to watch and support her grandchildren as they pursued their passions. Her Westie, Princess, and her granddog, Wally, brought her much love and joy. She also loved reading, crafting, bird-watching, and cheering for the Red Sox with her grandsons.
Ann leaves her two loving and devoted daughters, Catherine A. Stickney and her husband, Gerald, of New Bern and Mary Beth Kennedy, and her husband, Craig, of Mansfield; her four cherished grandchildren, Timothy and Mary Elizabeth Stickney and John and James Kennedy; her dear brother, Robert W.
