Orene Watson McCrary, 70, of Destin, Florida, formerly of Tifton, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2005, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. A graveside funeral service was held for Mrs. McCrary at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she was laid to rest. The Rev. Terrell Roberts officiated.
Born December 2, 1934, in Irwin County, Mrs. McCrary was the daughter of the late Robert Carlton Watson and Mamie Tucker Watson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Elbert McCrary, who passed away in 2004. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. McCrary is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Dale Schaeffer of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one brother, Willie Tucker of Tifton; one sister, Nadine German of Ty Ty; and two grandsons, Kyle Schaeffer and Cory Schaeffer.
