Margaret "Peg" Mosychuk, 90 years old, of Dedham, MA, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 12 at Atria in Falmouth, MA surrounded by her family. Peg was the cherished wife to the late Henry (Hank) Mosychuk, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. She was the devoted mother to 6 children, daughter Jean Miller and her husband Jim from Mansfield, MA, son the late Stephen Mosychuk from Jacksonville, FL, son Dr. Richard Mosychuk and his wife Jennifer from Falmouth, MA, daughter Ann Stano from Dedham, MA, daughter Ellen Murley and her husband David from Mansfield, MA, and daughter Susan Mosychuk from Arlington, VA. Peg was the endeared daughter of the late Clarence and Julia Kruez of Belmont, MA. She was the dedicated sister to Mary Ellen Higgison of West Hartford, CT and the late Caroline Sheehan of Dallas, TX. Peg was the extremely proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren, John and James Mosychuk, Christine, Gregory, Carolyn Miller and Emily Chornyak, Father Nicholas and Joseph Stano, Kristen, Michael, and Kevin Murley, and Julia and Henry Mosychuk. Peg also had 7 great grandchildren.
Peg attended Rosary Academy, before transferring to Belmont High School her sophomore year. She graduated BHS class of 1951. She received her formal education at UMASS Amherst, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education in 1955. Peg was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority while attending UMASS Amherst.
After graduation Peg taught second grade in Waltham, eventually leaving teaching to start her family.
Peg was a long time resident of Dedham, MA. She was a very active and involved member of her community. She was a CCD teacher, member of the Dedham Garden Club, founder and assistant librarian to the Greenlodge Elementary School Library, and all around cheerleader to her 6 children’s numerous sports and activities.
Peg and her husband Hank had a wonderful group of friends. These friendships lasted over 70 years. They enjoyed getting together monthly, also taking vacations and celebrating holidays together. Their laughter was loud and contagious.
Peg was a person of faith and very involved with her church, St. Mary’s of the Assumption in Dedham, MA. Peg loved the beach. She enjoyed taking walks along the water and swimming in the ocean. She spent her summers vacationing in Falmouth Heights, MA and in her later years spending the winters in Naples, FL.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. Dedham on Saturday, November 18 from 9:00 – 10:30am. Funeral will follow at St. Mary’s of the Assumption in Dedham at 11:00am. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
