NORTH SACO- Richard R. Ward Sr., age 87, passed away on Nov. 12, 2023, at Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Lake Placid, NY on Oct. 28, 1936, a son of the late George and Pearl (Brabon) Ward.
Richard proudly served our country in the U.S. Army.
For over 30 years, Richard was employed by Sebago Moc.
He will always be remembered for his love of family, hunting & fishing, snowmobiling, farming and gardening.
He is predeceased by a son- Rich Ward Jr. in 2014; and two brothers- Edward and Emerson.
Richard is survived by his wife of 65 years- Dorothy (Pritchard) Ward; children- Pam Croteau and her husband Gary of Buxton, Kim McGahey and her husband Bruce of Saco, and Aaron Ward of FL; sisters- Sharon and Beverly; grandchildren- Eric, Justin, Jennifer, and Alan; great grandchildren- Cyler, Rori, Grady, Willow, Cordelia, and Casen; nephew- James Gadway of Saco; and best friends- Marge and Dick Brandon of Fryeburg.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday Nov. 16 at 10 AM at South Buxton Cemetery (Woodman Section).
