Obituary

Robert Henry “Bob” Kellner, 77, of Palm Harbor FL, formally of Norton MA, went home to be with the Lord on November 10th, 2023. Bob was the eldest son of the late Henry J. Kellner and Betty W. Kellner.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years Martha Kellner. He also leaves behind his sons, Robert H. Kellner Jr and Eric (Kathy) Kellner. His siblings Patricia (Jim) Henderson of Ft. Lauderdale FL, Thomas (Cindy) Kellner of Pittsburgh PA and Mary Lou (Dean) Mathies of Finleyville PA. His cherished grandsons, Deven P Kellner and Matthew Kellner. Bob also leaves his sisters-in-laws Millie Costa and Jean (Jim) Hillier and many nieces and nephews.

After graduation from South Park High School Bob eagerly joined the Navy to pursue his future. His duty station led him to Newport RI where he met “the love of my life” Martha.

After his time in the service was completed, he and Martha moved to Pennsylvania to work for the US Bureau of Mines as a mine inspector. During his employment Bob suffered a debilitating injury which left him in a coma for months. In Bob’s true stubborn fashion, he awoke with a vengeance for life.

Unable to continue as an inspector, Bob continued his education receiving an associate degree in accounting. They packed up and moved to Norton MA where he and Martha raised their boys. Bob was passionate about local politics where he could be a “force to recon with.”

He enjoyed his annual hunting trips to the Pennsylvania woods spending time with family and friends and sometimes bringing home a deer. Bob enjoyed gardening and cooking along with sharing the treasures of his harvest.

The 4th of July was a special holiday for Bob which always brought him back to Pennsylvania where he would enjoy family, friends and festivities at his sisters annual party. He will be remembered at the gathering along with his siblings who predeceased him, Henry J. Kellner Jr. and Barbara J. Kellner.

A very special thank you to Bob’s longtime friend Kerrie Lewis for many years of friendship and guidance.

A memorial service will be held in April.
