Eric J. Tetreault, 34, passed away suddenly at home on November 08, 2023 following an acute illness. Born in Providence, RI to mother Rhonda M. Landry and father James A. Tetreault, he was raised in Blackstone and has lived most of his adult life in Woonsocket.
Eric was a talented and creative soul who had a passion for music since he was a child. A self-taught musician, he played guitar and piano, and loved to compose his own songs. He uploaded some of his original works to his YouTube channel, @DanteW, many of which he dedicated to his beloved daughter, Emily L. Tetreault. Eric’s life centered around Emily, his self-proclaimed greatest accomplishment. He found such joy, happiness, and laughter with her, and she taught him how to live life in the moment. Eric was always in awe at who she was becoming as a person, and his love for her and pride in being her father was endless. Emily is Eric’s legacy to this world, and his sweet and gentle soul will live on through her.
Eric noticed the beauty in things most others take for granted. He could spend hours exploring nature and found great peace in being outdoors. He loved his walks with Emily at Blackstone Gorge, their “magical forest”. Eric could talk passionately about inspiring architecture or the intricacy of a butterfly’s pattern; he loved a good debate; tradition was important to him; he could do some crazy tricks with a hacky sack; and he saw the world in shades of gray, never black and white. Eric had so many dreams and aspirations. He wanted to produce original music that would inspire others, and travel with his daughter. He loved animals, and couldn’t wait to get a dog of his own.
Eric had a deep love for his family and is surrounded in death by the love of his mom “Ma” Rhonda Landry and step-dad Jason “Jay” Elfman, daughter Emily Tetreault and her mother Megan Murphy, his father James Tetreault and half-brother Max Tetreault, his grandmother Lillian Landry, his aunts and uncles Angelique Kim, Christian Landry, Andre Landry, and Monique Payne, and countless other family and friends. Knowing Eric was a gift that even death cannot take from us. He will be missed every minute of every day, but the miracle of his existence will stay in our hearts until we meet again.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor and remember Eric at visiting hours on Wednesday November 15th, 2023, from 3pm-7pm at Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave, Woonsocket.
His funeral will be held Thursday November 16th at 9:00am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Woonsocket. Eric will be laid to rest alongside his beloved grandfather, Willie Landry, in the family plot at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
