Linda Elaine Ball, 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, November 9, 2023, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held, 2 PM, Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Pastor Craig Snyder officiating.
Mrs. Ball was born April 2, 1945, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late A. J. & Doris Daniels Helms. She wore many hats, she worked in childcare, was a produce manager and from 2007 until 2022, she was a soup maker for Our Daily Bread. Mrs. Ball loved her family and grandchildren and she was a very caring person. Mrs. Ball taught the children’s Sunday School at Northside Baptist Church for years and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Carol Ball of Fitzgerald and Lynne Shewman of Columbus; grandchildren: Lyndsey May & Michael, James Phillips, Chad Ball, Corey Ball & Mandy, Chris Ball & Alexis, Lauren Shewman, Brooke Shewman, Johnny Shewman and Gaby Shewman; great-grandchildren: Layton Ball, Emberlyn Ball and Logan May; a sister, Sherry Ball of Ocilla; a brother, Micky Helms of Fitzgerald; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Ball. She is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Ball; a son, Billy Ball and a brother & sister-in-law, Bobby Helms & Pauline.
