Raymond Edward Hoffman, Jr., 72, of Tifton passed away Thursday, March 31, 2005, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Charles Kent and the Rev. Byron Perry officiating. Mr. Hoffman was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Hoffman's friends served as pallbearers.
Born April 23, 1932, in Gadsden, Alabama, Mr. Hoffman was the son of the late Raymond Edward Hoffman, Sr. and Thelma Coley Hoffman. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. He was a painter; and he was of the Baptist faith. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and the United States Air Force; and he had lived Tifton for 15 years.
Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife, Anne Whittaker Hoffman of Tifton; three sons, Steve Hoffman of Houston, Texas, Keith Hoffman of Brooksville, Florida and Garrick Lamb, of Greer, South Carolina; one daughter, Phyllis Hoffman of Atlanta; one brother, Fred Hoffman of Port LaVaca, Texas; three sisters, Shirley Freeman, Barbara Langlin and Donna Kaye Garrett, all of Gadsden, Alabama; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
