Joe K. Stanley, Sr. 86, of Anderson died peacefully at his daughter's residence in Muncie, November 8, 2023.
He was born October 4, 1937, in Anderson, the son of Raymond and Lavinna (Wilson) Stanley.
He worked in production at Delco Remy Division of General Motors for 43 years before retiring in 1998.
Joe enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything in the world as well as playing cards and board games, watching his grandchildren’s sports and activities, traveling 49 states with his late wife and Joe’s 50th state of Alaska with family in August 2023, attending his twice weekly UAW Retiree Euchre Club, watching college sports, an avid Colts fan and loved playing Blackjack at the casino.
He is survived by his three children, Vickie (Ace) Dudley of Selma, IN; Joe (Kim) Stanley, Jr. of Fayetteville, Georgia and Robert "Bob" (Connie) Stanley of Woodstock, Georgia; brother, James (Kristi) Stanley of Anderson and sister, Sandy Huffman of Valparaiso; nine grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Dudley, TJ (Stephanie) Terrell, Justin (Amber) Dudley, Joshua (Kari) Terrell, Kristie (Roger) Dilly, Zach Stanley, Brooke (JB) Taylor, Jesse (Taylor) Stanley and Kara Stanley; 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVina Stanley, his parents and a granddaughter, Jordan Hassell.
Funeral service will be at 12 noon Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with his son, Rev. Joe Stanley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at noon at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Bettie J. Dudley Scholarship Fund at any First Merchants Bank or American Cancer Society.
