CHARLES “CHUCK” WESTOVER OBITUARY

Charles “Chuck” W. Westover, 89, of Brush Valley, PA went to his heavenly home, where he was greeted by his three wives, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from the Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, PA

The son of the late Heber Westover and Olive J. (Learn) Westover Guidash, he was born on August 5, 1934 in Indiana, PA.

Chuck attended the Hilltop Baptist Church.

For the past thirty plus years, he had greatly enjoyed his career as a PA state constable and security guard at many locations, such as the River Valley School District, the Indiana Co. Fair, the Indiana Co. Coin Club and Ligonier Days, to name just a few.

Chuck was the current Brush Valley Twp. Constable and was still active in the Brush Valley Fire Police. He had formerly been employed by McNaughton Brothers and had retired from the Brush Valley Fire Company.

He is survived by his five children: Wannetta Putt and husband, John of Commodore, PA; Diana “Sis” Umbrell and husband Jim of Chambersburg, PA; Wilma Black and John Mitchell of Indiana, PA; Sharon Burkett and husband Dale of Indiana, PA and Billie Jo Mohn and husband Donnie of WI; sixteen grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Also surviving are his brothers: Julius Guidash, Jr. of Commodore, PA; Darius Guidash and wife Sue of TX; sister Jackie Hogge and husband Moe of Chambersburg, PA and many special friends, including close friends Rick Yarnick and Mary Jane Overdorff and his faithful companion, his dog Marty.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his three wives: Marie (Donahey) Westover; Nancy (Johnston) Westover and Edna (Frank) Westover; three infant children: Nancy, Jeffrey and Charles Westover and brother, Wendell Westover.

Family and friends will be received from 2-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023 and again from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the Hilltop Baptist Church, 4859 Route 286 Hwy West, Indiana, PA. A noon funeral service with Pastor Jack Lucas will take place at the church on Saturday immediately following the visitation. Interment will be at Montgomery Cemetery in Grant Township.
