In Raynham, Robert A. Pontes Jr., age 81, passed away in the Life Care Center of Raynham following a brief illness, while surrounded by his loving family on November 7, 2023. Robert was born in Taunton, the son of the late Robert A. Pontes Sr. and Julia (Suite) Pontes. He was predeased by his former wife Bernadette (Smith) Pontes.
Robert had resided most of his life in Taunton. He attended Taunton schools and worked for the former Poole Silver Company in Taunton. Robert enjoyed riding horses, western memorabilia, loved his cats, looked forward to meeting his friends at the McDonald’s on Winthrop St. and also at Boyden Park.
Robert is survived by his daughter Cheryl Stankaukas and her companion Rodman Goff of Dighton, his grandchild Casey Shoemaker of Dighton, and brother Richard Pontes of Taunton and nephew David McGuire.
A graveside service will be held at Cedar Knoll Cemetery in East Taunton on Monday, November 13th at 11 am. Visiting hours are kindly omitted.
