EPSOM, NH ---- Carol Marie Dinger, 75, passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Epsom Healthcare Center.
Known as “Binky” by her closest friends, Carol was born in Laconia, New Hampshire on March 14, 1948, the daughter of J.K. (“Barney”) and Cecile Flynn.
Carol was an amazingly creative chef who could do it all – from weddings at the Lakehouse in Meredith to banquets at Pat’s Peak Ski Resort – while always making sure that everyone involved felt special. Carol was not a formally-trained chef, but rather honed her passion and natural culinary skills through a wide range of positions, eventually becoming a featured guest on WMUR9’s Cook’s Corner.
Carol had a wonderful eye for design and studied at the Chamberlain School of Retailing in Boston, Massachusetts. When she was not busy cooking, you could often find Carol seeking out antique treasures at her favorite thrift stores. Carol also had an inherent knack for repurposing old items into new and exciting uses. One of her favorite pastimes was to go to Gilford Beach, where she was often found relaxing with her head stuck in the latest, best-selling work of nonfiction. Carol was extremely well-read and a master of trivia who loved to stump her children with tough questions, despite giving them plenty of hints! She always had a big heart and volunteered much of her time at the St. Vincent de Paul Society with her sister, helping those who were less fortunate.
Carol is survived by her son Michael Dinger, his wife Agnet and their two daughters Olivia and Sofia; by her daughter Kelly Sinclair, her husband Mark and their two sons William and Oliver; and by her sister Beverly Mefford. In addition to her parents, Carol is predeceased by her many aunts and uncles.
There will be no memorial services at this time.
