Obituary

Julianna “Jewels” Novena Pasho-Melendez, a lifelong resident of Andover and beloved daughter of Lisa Pasho, Ramon Pasho, and Juan Melendez, passed away at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence on Friday, November 3, 2023. She was 24 years old.

Julianna was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, on September 25, 1999. A graduate of Andover High School, class of 2018. Under the guidance of her mentors and friends, Bill Fahey and Jackie Stackhouse-Lightner, she was a Program Assistant for the Youth Services Program in Andover. Presently, Julianna was a Kid Care group leader for Andover Public Schools and a summer supervisor for Rec Park — Department of Community Services Andover. She was just about ready to graduate from Northern Essex Community College with a Human Services degree and Children’s Behavioral Health Specialist certification.

Julianna was a very active young woman, playing basketball since she was young. While in high school, she played for the Andover Lady Warriors Basketball Program. She loved the legends: Michael Jordan, Koby Bryant, and Paul Pierce. Through and through, she was the ultimate fan of The Boston Celtics, especially #0, Jayson Tatum.

Julianna was a compassionate and pure-hearted person who selflessly served. She helped all of her friends and neighbors in need and especially loved to help children with autism and disabilities like herself. As a Family-to-family student liaison to Dianne and Kim Caraviello, she provided outreach, peer-to-peer, and support care services. She was a true gift to our community and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Julianna had a wonderful sense of humor. As a sneaker collector and Nike connoisseur, she loved her “kicks.” She enjoyed spending her free time listening to music, making chocolate chip cookies, air-frying chicken nuggets and smiley fries, working on her next tattoo, drawing, driving, playing video games, and watching Law & Order SVU. All while chucking up the deuce sign to spread “peace, love, and chicken grease.” She was the most devoted, loyal, and “spoiling” Aunt, Titi, Lala. Always walking in her purpose, bible verse Jeremiah 29:11. Forever a part of our Ohana, nobody gets left behind.

Julianna is survived by her mother Lisa, dad Ramon, father Juan, her forever bonded sisters, Jasmin Pasho and her children, Anaya and Ayden Diaz and soon-to-be-born, Amelia Jewels Peña of Haverhill, Jada Pasho Squatrito and her husband Carl Squatrito of Andover, Jaylin Pasho of Andover, and her beloved “Lafamomolili” dog; Winnie, her loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many friends; She was also the granddaughter of Consuelo Acosta and the late Phillis E. Pasho.
