Elinor F. (Peckham) Gavin, 96, of Little Compton, Rhode Island passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at her home, with family by her side. She was the wife of the late Donald N. Gavin.
Elinor was born in Fall River, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Raymond M. and Clara J. (Ballinger) Peckham. She was a resident of Little Compton for most of her life. Elinor touched many lives in her 96 years, on the beach, on the blueberry and Christmas tree farm, selling banana splits at the church fair, running the summer youth program in Little Compton with her husband to mention only a few. She loved and was loved by many.
Elinor is survived by her daughter Donna Gavin of Jamestown, RI, her son Bruce Gavin and his wife Jane of Little Compton, brothers Norman M. Peckham of Little Compton and Gordon P. Peckham of VT, her grandchildren Chelsea and husband Charlie Koppelson, Hannah and husband Leo Levine, Raymo Hutten-Czapski, Thomas and wife Kerri Allder, Matthew and wife Kristen Allder and Elizabeth Allder-Wordell,and her great grandchildren Elinor and Benjamin Koppelson, Joshua, Jessica, Claire, Rebecca and Benjamin Allder and Samuel Allder-Wordell. Elinor was the mother of the late Tracy Gavin and the sister of the late Albert Peckham.
A memorial service will be held at the United Congregational Church in Little Compton, Rhode Island on Saturday November 25th at 2:00 pm.
