LACONIA ---- Dennis A. Phelps, 62, of Jefferson Street, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Concord Hospital – Concord from a courageous, but brief battle with cancer.
Dennis was born on June 18, 1961, in Laconia, NH, the son of Clinton and Winnifred Phelps. He was a Laconia native and graduated from Laconia High School. After graduating he served in the US Army. He proudly dedicated 33 years working at Foley Oil & Propane Company up until his retirement in June of 2023.
Dennis was a family man; he loved and cherished his family as they were always his top priority. He loved time on the lake and up north at the camp. He enjoyed ice racing on Berry Pond and White Mountain Motorsports Park. Dennis loved spending time with his best friends Bryon Cooper and Marcy Stone. Dennis spent over 12 years being a board member for the Lakes Region Santa Fund.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Michelle “Shelley” (Morin) Phelps; parents, Clinton and Winnifred Phelps; son, Ryan Phelps and his fiancé Lauren Malloy; daughter, Sarah (Phelps) Perras and her husband Beau, with Dennis’ first grandchild on the way; brothers, Mike Phelps and his wife Dawn, and Jim Phelps and his wife Lisa; sisters, Kim Lacasse and her husband Scott, and Jenn Mooney; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Carl and Lynn Potter; mother-in-law Mary Morin; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his uncle, Karl Phelps.
There will be no Calling Hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andre Bessette Parish-Sacred Heart, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH.
A Celebration of Life will follow Mass, details are soon to come.
A private burial will be held at Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations be made in Dennis’ memory to the Dennis Phelps Memorial Scholarship, 14 Country Club Road Suite 9, Gilford, NH 03249 or the Lakes Region Santa Fund, PO Box 7454, Laconia, NH 03247.
