David S. Huse, Sr., 85, of Goffstown, NH, died Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Bel Air Nursing Home, Goffstown, NH with his family by his side. He was born on November 30, 1937, in Townsend, MA, a son of Forest and Lucille (Scott) Huse.
David was an Army veteran. He worked for 39 years at Western Electric which became AT&T then Lucent Technologies. He was an avid sportsman and belonged to the Townsend Rod and Gun Club.He especially enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandsons. He enjoyed volunteering and charity work, most especially at the Upper Room in Derry, NH. He and his wife Anita founded the Upper Room Food Pantry which has since been named the Anita Huse Kitchen. David loved gardening and being outdoors. In his later years he really enjoyed playing Bingo at Birch Heights Retirement Community in Derry and at his final stop at Bel Air Nursing Home.
He was the beloved husband of his late wife Anita. He is survived by his son, David Huse Jr; two daughters, Christine Templeton and Mary Kelley; sons in law Brian Templeton; James Bavaro and Michael Kelley, seven grandchildren, Katelyn Lavoie, Heather, Benjamin, Desmond, Walter, and Aiyana Templeton, and Jazmyn Kremidas.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 9:00am to 10:00am in the First Parish Church, 47 E. Derry Rd., Derry, NH. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am in the church. The burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, 29 Highland Ave, Townsend, MA on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 9:30am. Memorial contributions may be made to The Upper Room – Food Pantry, 36 Tsienneto Rd, Derry. Because of a severe allergy among the church staff, No lilies are allowed in the church.
