Gloria Ruth (Jeune) Collins
January 2, 1935- November 5, 2023
Gloria Ruth (Jeune) Collins, 88, of Anderson, Indiana, was born on January 2, 1935 in Butler, New Jersey and passed away peacefully in her home on November 5, 2023 surrounded by those who loved her. She was a small woman with an enormous heart who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She devoted her life to service, never seeking recognition for her kindness and good deeds. Often, only the benefactor of her generosity was aware of her gifts.
Consistent with her heart for service, Gloria had an impactful career. She served as a Head Start teacher for six years, followed by 25 years as the Five-County District Executive Director of the American Cancer Society. Later, she served eight years as the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Madison County.
Gloria was a faithful member of Park Place Church of God for 53 years, where she found solace and strength in her faith.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 70 years, Don, and their three children: Deborah (Jeff), Jay (Gail), and Lori (Randy). Gloria also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Isaiah (Laura), Kelsey (Peter), Micah (Candace), Rebecca (Nate), Sarah, Kimberly (Daniel), and Mark, as well as one great-grandchild, Isaac. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Gladys Jeune.
A memorial service for Gloria will be held at Park Place Church of God in Anderson on Friday, November 10, at 11 a.m. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Bessie Byrum Lounge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Madison County.
Gloria's kindness, selflessness, and dedication to serving others will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. May her memory be a blessing.
