Charles “Pap” Mac Mallard, 83, of Norman Park passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Pruitt Hospice in Moultrie. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Mallard at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Moultrie, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Alan Tillman and Brother David Walden will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Moultrie immediately following the service.
Mr. Mallard’s family members will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 12, 1940, in Worth County, Mr. Mallard was the son of the late Charlie L. Mallard, Sr. and Nora Naomi Gay Mallard Hand. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Betty Monteen Powell Mallard, who passed away August 12, 2023; one brother, Charlie L. Mallard, Jr.; and one sister, Barbara Mallard Roberts. Before retiring, he was a bridge foreman for Southern Concrete and he was of the Baptist faith. Farming was his passion and he loved his tractor and his dog, Jake.
Mr. Mallard is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Ken Haughton of Norman Park and Mary Nan and Alan Tillman of Moultrie; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kristan and David Walden and Whitney Tillman; and one great-grandson, Ben Walden.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to a local animal shelter.
