Obituary

CHICOPEE – Claude Tetreault, 83, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, November 2, 2023. He was born in Sherbrooke, Canada on July 19, 1940, the son of the late Felix and Fernande (Fortier) Tetreault. He was raised in Holyoke and moved to Chicopee in 1958 where he lived the remainder of his life. He served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Claude was employed as a production manager, a carpenter, and retired as the building engineer from the Amherst Office Park. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and vacationing at the beach. He leaves his beloved wife of 61 years, Joan (Tremblay) Tetreault; his three loving and devoted daughters, Susan Kinsella and her fiancé, Scott Davis, of Holland, Karen Tetreault of Chicopee, and Debra Charette of Agawam; his five cherished grandchildren, Daniel Montcalm and his partner, Katie Jones, Ashley Montcalm and her husband, Aske Andersen, Ian Kinsella and his partner Fiona Flavin, Allison Charette and her fiancé, Cory McLaughlin, and Samantha Charette and her partner Phillip Hale; his four cherished great grandchildren, Oliver, Arlo, Lily, and Alma; his two sisters, Claire LeFrancois of Vienna, VA and Jeannine Orr and her husband, Michael, of South Carolina; his sister in law, Carol Edwards of South Hadley; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Claudette Dufresne and Nicole Vrona. His family will receive friends on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, (Please meet directly at the Church), 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
