Carolyn Yvonne Yawn Griffin, 86, of Tifton passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Ms. Griffin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Lenox Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Kenny Kicklighter will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Don Griffin, Rodney Parker, Cody Cottle, Caleb Parker, Sam Cottle and Wendell Freeman will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 24, 1936, in Lenox, Ms. Griffin was the daughter of the late George Thomas Yawn and Dara Mae Dell Yawn. She was also preceded in death by one son, Victor Parker; one daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and Kyle Cottle; three brothers, Gene Yawn, Troy Yawn and Charles Yawn; and two sisters, Faye Thompson and Mae Yawn. She was a homemaker and she loved her grandkids. She loved to read; do crossword puzzles and word searches; watch westerns; and she loved to cook.
Ms. Griffin is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donnie “Don” Lester Jr. and Lisa Griffin and Rodney Parker, all of Tifton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Cody and Rebekah Cottle, Sam Cottle, Caleb and Maleigh Parker, Tessa Griffin and Cassie and Luke Riley.; and two great-grandchildren, Townes Riley and Audra Riley.
