SANBORNTON ---- Linda Marie Poiré, 68, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Hyder House in Dover, NH.
Linda was born on March 11, 1955, in Lacrosse, WI, the daughter of Richard Yost and Mary (Glotz) Yost-Kellogg. As a child, she developed a talent for playing classical piano and sewing her own clothing. As the oldest child, she often assumed the responsibility of helping her mother with her younger siblings.
Linda earned her Bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University and was a dedicated nurse for 43 years. Her career spanned three decades at Lakes Region General Hospital as a Registered Nurse and case manager. She pursued a passion for healing as a Licensed Massage Therapist establishing her independent practice called “Prayerful Touch” at Village West One in Gilford, NH. With her client’s consent, she offered prayers for their wellbeing after every massage. She specialized in cupping massage and hot stone massage and also provided support for her clients' medical concerns.
Linda enjoyed adventures, exploration, and travel. Along with her beloved husband, Roger, Linda skied in Switzerland and Italy, undertook a transforming three week backpacking pilgrimage in France, Italy, Croatia, and Bosnia, traveled to Hawaii and Alaska, enjoyed spontaneous overnight motorcycle trips in the US and Canada, and enjoyed traveling full-time in their RV. She found joy in giving and being there for others, preparing healthy foods, and savoring the beauty of vibrant flower gardens.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Dr. Roger Eugene Poiré; son, Mark Grant Williams of Meredith, NH; grandson, Caleb Williams of Meredith, NH; mother, Mary Yost Meminger Kellogg and her husband Jack Kellogg of Venice, FL; sisters, Sharon Cates and her husband Jeremy Cates of Bastrop, TX, Joni Yost and her partner David Foster of Rochester, NY, and Lisa A. (Yost) LeBlanc of Richmond, CA; brothers, Steve Yost and his wife Sherry (Jinks) Yost of Syracuse, UT, and Alan Yost and his wife Beth (Fein) Yost of Austin, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her father Richard Yost.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 4:00 – 6:00pm, at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 03246, using the carriage house entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 11:00am, at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish at St. Martin Church, 120 Maple Street, Somersworth, NH 03878.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Somersworth, NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Lin’s memory to Friends of Hyder Family Hospice House (FHFHH), 285 County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820.
