Paul Francis Carr passed away on October 30, 2023, at the age of 64, after a long period of declining health, which he faced with courage and good spirit.
He was the eldest son of Robert and Mary (Donovan) Carr of Milton, MA, who predeceased him, and a much-loved brother to Diane Picardi, Michael Carr, Marylou Carr, Ann Dugas, and Christina Zaveri. He was also loved by his brothers-in-law Ralph, David, Riyaz, and Alan, and his sister-in-law Tricia. He was the best uncle imaginable to Christopher and his wife, Laura; Robert and his wife, Kelly; Emily and her husband, Hank; Nick, Molly, Sam, Kate, Lloyd, Carmen, Marc, Brigitte and her fiancé Matt, Raymond, Ruby, Hannah, and Sameer, and the best grand-uncle to Willow, Asher, Ada, Maddie, Henry, George and James.
Born on May 14, 1959, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Paul was raised and spent the rest of his life in Massachusetts. He graduated from Bradford College with a degree in Political Science and had a long career with the federal government. Paul enjoyed a wide range of interests, including world travel (his favorite country being Ireland), birdwatching at Plum Island, coin collecting, and genealogy. His greatest passion, however, was for his family. His nieces and nephews could count on his enthusiastic support from the front row or sidelines no matter what sports match, school play, dance presentation, or music recital they featured in. He will be remembered for his sense of humor in the face of adversity, deep faith, and a staggering knowledge of trivia. Paul was a joy to be with, a wonderful brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He will forever be missed by those of us who knew him and loved him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Paul's Funeral Mass on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11 A.M. in St. Elizabeth's Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton. His burial will take place at Milton Cemetery in Milton beside his parents. THERE ARE NO FUNERAL HOME VISITING HOURS.
