Joann Lobao, aged 58, peacefully passed away on November 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Born on March 18, 1965, she was the cherished daughter of the late Peter M. Silva and the late Ann (Evans) Silva. Growing up in Lowell, she attended local schools and graduated from Lowell High School, endearingly known as JoJo by those close to her.
Joann's heart was at the beach and in her camper at Salisbury State Park and various campgrounds, where she often delighted spending time with her family. She enjoyed listening to all types of music but mainly country, Adele and some ACDC. Some of her favorite hobbies included singing and dancing while doing her housework. Joann was a neat freak and used her love of cleaning to destress. She dedicated several years of her life working as a waitress in Massachusetts at the Tiki Lau, and the Lo Kai, as well as Casa Mia Restaurant and Pizza Gram Plus both in New York.
She was preceded in death by her former husband and close friend, Frank Lobao, and is survived by her longtime former companion, Luigi Cubello Sr. of Feura Bush, NY. Her legacy lives on through her five children: Cassandra Lobao and her fiancé Wilfredo Cepeda of Lowell, Nicholas Groulx of Dracut, Arianna Cubello of Delmar, NY, Luigi Cubello, Jr of Feura Bush, NY, and Gino Cubello of Feura Bush, NY. Her beloved grandchildren, Jackson Silva-Lobao, Adriel Cepeda-Lobao, and Grayson Slaver, will forever cherish her memory.
Joann is also survived by her siblings: Howard F. Silva of Lowell, Laurie A. Silva of Lowell, Peter G. Silva and his wife Adrienne of Lee, NH, Christine A. Hannigan and her husband, David A., of Methuen, and Christopher D. Silva and his wife, Gretchen E., of Sanford, ME. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends, including her dear friend Brittany Yarusso of NY, and numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family members, including her aunt Theana.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Tufts Medical Center for the exceptional care and compassion Joann received during this challenging time.
