Sarah was born and raised in Ventura, California. She attended Will Rogers Elementary School, Balboa Middle School and she graduated from El Camino High School. Sarah went on to attend Ventura College to get her associate degree and she also attended California State University, Channel Islands.
Sarah was the youngest in her family. She absolutely adored her parents (Charles and Lisa Munoz) and her sisters (Charisa and Marisa Munoz). She took pride in each moment they spent together as a family, and she was there for them through thick and thin.
Sarah was 18 years old when she met Mark, her husband and partner in life. They have been together for 15 years and are blessed with a beautiful daughter, Mia. Sarah loved nothing more than to be with Mark and Mia. Whether out with friends, with family or at home, Sarah, Mark and Mia were inseparable.
Sarah was an amazing mom. Mia was the center of Sarah's universe. She loved her baby girl so much. She was so proud of Mia and of the person that Mia is becoming. In Sarah's own words, "She is one of the best kids in the world and I'm so lucky and blessed to be her momma!", "I love you more than words can describe baby girl!!"
Sarah loved spending time with Adam, Jasmine, Scarlett (her goddaughter), Delilah and JJ (her godson). She loved visiting her grandma Tillie and her grampee-doodles (Alex). She adored her godparents (Alan and Sandra Aylard) and she loved being a big sister to Sabryna (her godsister), Alex and Dominik (her godbrothers) Aylard. Sarah also loved going to the beach with Mia to look for seals and seashells, vacations at Bass Lake with her family, date night with her man, dressing up, taking pictures, and listening to music.
Sarah was a stunning woman with a big heart and the most beautiful smile. She had a laugh and an energy about her that was infectious. She was strong, goofy, talented, loving, animated, selfless, and incredibly compassionate. She was an amazing woman that was loved by all who knew her.
Sarah was an incredibly talented softball player, having played from 4 to 20 years old. A fierce catcher, no one could beat her behind the plate. From a child she honed her skill and loved every moment of it. She was a wall behind the plate, gunning girls out at 2nd and picking off girls on 3rd. Through softball, Sarah formed friendships to last a lifetime. She was special to watch, our #16.
Although we only had her for a short time, Sarah lived an extraordinary life filled with love, cherished moments and accomplishments. She was a once-in-a-lifetime personality that left a mark on all who knew her. Sarah's memory will live on forever in our hearts and fond memories of her, especially her smile.
"When I feel cold, you warm me
And when I feel I can't go on
You come and hold me
It's you and me forever
Sarah, smile"
