Obituary

Roni Lynn (Mackay) Castaneda born January 28th, 1955 of Brockton, Massachusetts originally of Littleton, NH, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones on October 28th 2023.

She is survived by her loving husband Gerrard Castaneda of 52 years. Her children Crystal (Castaneda) Depina of Brockton, Karina (Castaneda) Angelopolus and her husband Danny Angelopolus of Brockton. Andre Castaneda and his wife Meghan Castaneda of Wrentham, Amber Castaneda of Brockton, and Ashley Grant of Brockton. Her 20 grandchildren Erica, Gabriel, Gaige, Alexis, Greyson, Giavana, Gavin, Devin, Ahliana, Haley, Cayden, Aleyna, Chase, Layla, Claudimara, Jaxson, Kevin, Braylon, Molly and Claudimarian. Her great grandbabies Julius, Jeremiah 1 in Heaven wither her now and 1 on the way. Roni was lovingly called Mammy not just by her grandchildren but by all who loved her as she became their Mammy as well. Her sister Ronda (Mackay) Tellier of Littleton NH, Kerri (Mackay) Darossa of Lisbon NH, and her brother Brett Mackay of Hancock NH. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Albert Mackay and Donna Rita Mackay of Littleton NH and her two sisters Bobbi Jo Robin (Mackay) Perez and Melonie Mackay both of Littleton NH.

Roni was a loving wife and an amazing mother/mammy who was always there for anyone who needed her. She has many lifelong friends which is a testament to the kind of person she was. Roni was a faithful woman who loved the lord, her family, and friends.

Roni was an avid BINGO player and tried to never miss a game. She found her peace in sitting in the sunshine reading a book and watching the birds and wildlife around her. She was always giving a helping hand to all animals, especially the local MSCPA.

She has gone to join the Lord and to watch over and guide her loved ones from heaven. Please join us to say our final goodbyes to her. Friday November 3rd from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm.

Almighty God, we rejoice in your promise of love, joy and peace. In your mercy turn the darkness of death into the dawn of new life, and the sorrow of parting into the joy of heaven. Amen.
