FALL RIVER… Jose “Joe” G. Silva, age 57, passed away unexpectedly at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Joe was born in Sao Jorge, Açores to the late Jose DaSilva and Lidia C. DaSousa Silva. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Pires) Silva of Fall River, MA.
Joe moved to the United States as a child, growing up in California and Massachusetts. As a young man, he settled down in Fall River, where he met Kathleen and started a family of his own. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Sika Sanifil. Joe was a man of many talents, known as a jack of all trades. He loved to work around his house and yard, taking great pride in his many projects. In his free time, he enjoyed playing pool, joined a pool league with friends, and going fishing whenever he could. In recent years, he liked to keep up with Reels on Facebook and TikTok. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: daughter, Stephanie Silva of Fall River, MA; son, Kevin Pires of West Warwick, RI; sister, Bernadette Bettencourt of Sao Jorge, Açores; grandchildren, Caylee Pires, Arianna Pires, Devin Pires, and Tristan Edmonds.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will take place on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 8 PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA 02723. Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM, prior to the service in the funeral home.
