Melvin R. Blair, 83, of Anderson, passed away October 27, 2023 at Anderson Community Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born on February 23, 1940 in Yuma, Kentucky, the son of Roy and Rosie (Flinchum) Blair. He served in the US Navy and was employed for many years with Delco Remy. In retirement he enjoyed local mission work, farming, and raising Boston Terriers. He attended Fishersburg Wesleyan Church.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nondas Ridgway Blair; children, Tammy (Dan) Royer, June (Dave) Shuler, Trudi Blair, Mekie (Lisa) Blair; grandchildren, Sarah, Danny, Matthew, Joshua, Blair, and Benjamen; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Erma, Buddy, Wonda, Linda, Roy V., Marty, Joie, Lee; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Mark, son Ernie, and grandson, Dustin,
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 1 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Robert Summitt. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 11 AM until the hour of the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
