Obituary

Aferdita (Bubesi) Zaimi, 85 of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, October 26 th at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her three sons, Shendet Zaimi and his wife, Adelina of Worcester, Pellumb Zaimi and his wife, Luljeta of Florida, and Tomorr Zaimi and his wife, Enkeleda of Florida; a daughter, Arena Kreka and her husband, Arben of Worcester; a brother Akil Bubesi of Albania; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Hair Zaimi in 2022; two brothers, Bari Bubesi and Fari Bubesi; and a sister, Korneli Zaimi.
She was born in Permet, Albania the daughter of John Sole Bubesi. and Refije (Berzani) Bubesi. Aferdita immigrated to the United States in 2000. She loved to socialize over coffee, spending time with family, telling stories, going on walks with her grandchildren, play dominoes, and garden – especially cultivating basil plants. She took great pride in her being the reason that her children were able to immigrate to the US.
Her graveside service will be Thursday, November 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 1st from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. AND Thursday, November 2nd from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue.
