SPRINGFIELD – Leona B. “Lee” (Stricker) Herring, 74, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, October 14, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ludlow on May 31, 1949, a beloved daughter of the late Fred L. and Edith M. (Trimm) Stricker. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Classical High School in Springfield and had lived in Springfield her entire life. She furthered her education and received an Associate’s Degree from Springfield Technical Community College. She was a loving homemaker to her husband and family. She was an active member of the Springfield Wesleyan Church in Springfield where she was involved in many church activities. During her leisure time, she enjoyed playing her violin and crocheting. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William A. Herring who was Called Home on June 14, 2003; and her loving son, Francis G. Herring. She leaves her three loving daughters, Claire D. Felix and her husband, Daniel, of Columbia, SC and Amy Estrada and her husband, Juan, and Mabel Berrios, all of Springfield; her many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren; her dear brother, Clayton Stricker of Florida and Roxan Weed and her husband, Howard, of Lexington, SC; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. Her Funeral Services and Burial will be held at a later date and time to be announced. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
