Jeffery L. Spires, Sr.

Jeffery L. Spires, Sr., 80, of Anderson passed away on October 25, 2023 at Bethany Pointe following an extended illness.
He was born on April 16, 1943 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Joseph and Theresa (Frick) Spires. He served in the United States Army Reserves. He was a real estate agent with Century 21 Hallmark West for 15 years in Oakland County, Michigan. He owned Master Care Dry Cleaning for 15 years in Michigan.
He was a member of Sturgis Church of the Nazarene and Clarkston Community Church of God. He was a member of the Barber Shop Harmony Society. He loved watching his children and grandchildren playing sports. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and loved singing barbershop.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (LeRoy/Gleason) Spires of Anderson whom he married on May 24, 2008 in Waterford, MI; his three sons, Jeffery Spires Jr. of Fishers, Christopher (Julie) Spires of Avon and Derrick (Jennifer) Spires of Noblesville; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Noel, Preston, Sophie, Maya, Ezekiel, Noah, Rachelle, and Gabrielle; seven siblings, John Spires of Louisiana, Jerry (Betty) Spires of Washington, Jason (Carol) Spires of Anderson, Janella (Eyvind) Hammersmark of Washington, Janet (Billy) Noble of Colorado, Julian (Patty) Spires of Washington, and Josiah Spires of Michigan; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sharon (VanSchoick) Spires on October 25, 2006; two sisters, Jackie Gotz and Johannah Darnell; two brothers, Joseph Spires and James Spires.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 3, 2023 at East Side Church of God with Dr. Kerry Robinson officiating. A graveside memorial service will take place in the spring of 2024 at Hillside Cemetery in Belleville, Michigan.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-2:00pm on Friday at the church.
