LACONIA ---- Anne Louise Oehlschlaeger, 83, of Laconia, died on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at home.
Anne was born on September 29, 1940, in New York, NY, to the late Frank Oehlschlaeger Sr. and Esther (Brown) Peters.
Anne graduated Laconia High School in 1958 and Radcliffe College in 1962. She worked in various jobs and immersed herself in the theater scene of New York City. Her experience included The Living Theater, the New York Shakespeare Festival, New York Public Theater and Theater for the New City. She later worked transcribing scripts for screenwriter Waldo Salt, and personal assistant to Jose Quintero and Geraldine Paige. After moving back to New Hampshire in the 1980’s, she owned a curiosity shop in Laconia before becoming a qualified freight train conductor. She was the first female qualified freight conductor in New Hampshire. Anne later worked as a paralegal at Brouillard &Brouillard until her retirement.
Anne is survived by her brother, Frank Oehlschlaeger and his wife Susan of Weare, NH; sister, Susan Peters and her husband Duncan Clark of Milton, NY; and sister, Kate Hutley of Florida. She is also survived by 4 nieces and 3 nephews.
